Position Overview

Join a pivotal role in advancing a significant, multi-year, collaborative research culture enhancement initiative, supported by Wellcome – the InFrame Inclusive Framework for Collegial Research Leadership.

This position involves working within a partnership across multiple universities, focusing on Glasgow, Edinburgh, and St Andrews.

Your responsibilities will include generating, synthesizing, and reporting on existing research and new insights concerning research leadership and culture. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding and provide best practice guidance that informs institutional policies and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the generation and synthesis of literature and project data to create new insights and best practices that influence institutional policy and decision-making.

  2. Design and implement a support package for the InFrame Culture Catalyst Fund, facilitating the pre- and post-award delivery of research culture-focused projects.

  3. Provide expert guidance on complex analytical project design issues for projects funded by the InFrame initiative.

  4. Enhance university policies, guidance, and digital resources related to research culture to ensure project outcomes are integrated into practice.

  5. Contribute to a comprehensive communication strategy through various channels, ensuring the project's mission is effectively shared and understood.

  6. Foster collaborative relationships with team members across the partnership.

  7. Develop and maintain strong networks to access intelligence and best practices from the higher education sector.

  8. Lead on analytical knowledge to inform the InFrame strategy and provide evidence-based information to funded projects.

  9. Identify and pursue opportunities for professional development for yourself and colleagues.

  10. Represent the project at meetings, conferences, and seminars to stay updated on developments and share best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of analytical and data presentation methods.
  • Clear comprehension of contemporary issues in university research culture.
  • Experience in applying data integrity and compliance standards.

Desirable:

  • PhD or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R.

Skills Required:

  • Exceptional analytical and research skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, including data analysis and project management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
