Job Purpose

The Community Knowledge Analyst will play a pivotal role in executing a significant, multi-partner research initiative aimed at enhancing the culture of research within academic institutions. This project, supported by Wellcome, focuses on the InFrame Inclusive Framework for Collegial Research Leadership.

Collaborating within a consortium of universities, the analyst will generate, synthesize, and report on both existing literature and new insights pertaining to research leadership and culture. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding and provide best practice guidance that informs institutional policies and decision-making.

Key responsibilities include identifying and assessing various evidence sources to aid in the design, implementation, and evaluation of projects that revolve around collegiality, leadership, and research culture.

Working closely with Research Culture Leads and stakeholders across partner institutions, the analyst will ensure effective coordination of project activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Generate, synthesize, and report on relevant literature and project data to enhance understanding and influence institutional policy, supporting the InFrame project.

  2. Design and implement a support package for the InFrame Culture Catalyst Fund, facilitating the delivery of research culture-focused projects in alignment with established themes.

  3. Provide expert guidance on complex analytical project design issues, assisting funded projects throughout their development and execution.

  4. Contribute to the enhancement of university policies and resources related to research culture, ensuring project insights are integrated into practice.

  5. Support a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the project’s mission through various channels, ensuring effective messaging.

  6. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with team members across the university partnership.

  7. Develop strong internal and external networks to gather intelligence and best practices from the higher education sector.

  8. Lead on analytical knowledge to inform the InFrame strategy and provide evidence-based information to funded projects.

  9. Identify and pursue opportunities for professional development for both self and colleagues.

  10. Represent the project at meetings and events, sharing knowledge of best practices in the higher education context.

  11. Perform additional duties as required, prioritizing work in collaboration with management.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Proficient understanding of analytical and data presentation methods.
  • Awareness of contemporary issues in university research culture.
  • Experience in data integrity and compliance with relevant legislation.

Desirable:

  • PhD or equivalent advanced qualification.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and planning abilities for complex projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Experience:

  • Experience in policy development and stakeholder consultation.
  • Managing projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in data management and reporting.
Terms and Conditions

This position is full-time and fixed-term for a duration of up to 2 years. The salary will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.
