Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Podiatry Assistant to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our podiatry team, you will provide clinical support to podiatrists, assist in footcare clinics, and conduct domiciliary visits. You will also assist in the day-to-day operations of clinics, including preparation of clinic rooms and managing stock.

Main Duties

  • Provide clinical support to podiatrists, including assistance in ulcer/wound care and surgical clinics.
  • Run your own footcare clinics and conduct domiciliary visits, providing nail care under the guidance of a podiatrist.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of clinics, including preparation of clinic rooms, ensuring smooth operation of multi-disciplinary team clinics, managing stock, and handling clinical administration.
  • Perform nail cutting, assist with patient care and education, conduct wound dressings, and liaise with other departments.
  • Support audit and research initiatives and utilise the EPIC electronic record system.

Requirements

  • A caring, proactive individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Level 3 qualification in healthcare.
  • Strong time management and IT skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, clinically challenging environment.

Pay

The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
