Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative services and manage departmental finances.
  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc financial reporting.
  • Provide financial training and support to staff.
  • Engage proactively with academics, researchers, and budget holders to foster effective working relationships.
  • Oversee various financial tasks, including general ledger management, research grant reporting, purchasing, invoice processing, and expense claims management.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of HND or HNC level 4/5 vocational qualification (or equivalent practical experience).
  • AAT Intermediate or equivalent qualification (or currently pursuing).
  • Previous experience in accounting.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT applications.

Interpersonal Skills

It is crucial to have strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with the Hub team and establish positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals. Understanding the needs of academics and research staff is essential to delivering a responsive financial service.

Continuous Improvement

Contribute to ongoing enhancements in the Department's financial administration by working closely with the central Finance team.
