Production Machine Technician

An exciting opportunity has emerged to join a growing manufacturing firm. We are seeking several skilled production machine technicians to become part of a leading provider of sustainable pulp packaging solutions.

This is a Temporary to Permanent role, with the possibility of a contract following the successful completion of a probationary period.


Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 12-hour shifts on a 2-week rotation
Week one
Week two
Overtime opportunities available
Pay rates increase as you progress through training stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate PLC-controlled machinery, valves, and mechanical systems to ensure proper setup
  • Perform in-process adjustments to maximize machine efficiency and product quality
  • Ensure machines are adequately supplied with raw materials, well-maintained, and conduct periodic output checks
  • Adhere to safety protocols and follow operational instructions at all times
  • Report any discrepancies to the immediate supervisor
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues to enhance process efficiency, collaborating with the Maintenance Team to resolve problems
  • Maintain accurate records of activities to meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, packing, and quality to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Undertake any additional tasks deemed necessary for the effective operation and maintenance of the facility
  • Keep the work area and machinery clean by following hygiene practices and maintaining a tidy workspace

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience operating PLC-driven automated machinery from setup to operation
  • Background in a manufacturing environment
  • Training in pneumatics and mechanics/engineering is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to achieving high standards of quality and efficiency
  • Initiative and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude to contribute to the future success of the site
