Job Summary:

Archway Roadmaster UK Ltd. is seeking a skilled Road Maintenance Operator to join their team. As a Road Maintenance Operator, you will be responsible for operating the Roadmaster Patcher Machine to carry out road maintenance and surface patching on client sites.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Operate the Roadmaster Patcher Machine to carry out road maintenance and surface patching on client sites.
  2. Attend pre and post contract meetings to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
  3. Carry out road repairs to the necessary standard and meet output targets, ensuring high-quality results and efficient project completion.
  4. Complete all necessary reports (daily & weekly) using a tablet or smartphone, providing accurate and timely information for project management.
  5. Ensure environmental standards are maintained and prevent spillages, adhering to company policies and regulations.
  6. Operate the vehicle legally and with courtesy to other road users, maintaining a safe and respectful driving record.
  7. Ensure service, product quality, and daily output levels are reached and maintained, meeting client expectations and company standards.
  8. Complete daily checks and maintenance of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition and ready for operation.
  9. Ensure the Roadmaster Patcher Machine is accurately calibrated according to the calibration schedule, maintaining equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Fuel the vehicle as necessary and drive in a fuel-efficient manner at all times, reducing costs and environmental impact.
  11. Assist with minor repairs during breakdowns, providing prompt and effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
  12. Inspect the vehicle(s) daily and report faults to supervisors and fleet support, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
  13. Comply with health and safety procedures and policies to ensure the role is carried out without risk to self and others, maintaining a safe working environment.
  14. Carry out any other reasonable duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Key Relationships:

  1. Maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, support staff, client staff, and third parties, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
  2. Develop good communication skills with operations management and raise problems in a timely manner, ensuring prompt resolution and effective project management.
  3. Actively work with line managers to enable efficient planning of work and vehicle movements, and regular timely submission of reports to operations and accounts teams, promoting seamless project execution.

Job Type: Fixed-term contract

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £17.00-£30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 60 per week
