Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Specialist to join our team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our Information Governance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Trust's compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Freedom of Information requests received by the Trust, ensuring timely and accurate responses in accordance with corporate and legislative requirements.
- Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer and Information Governance Manager to develop and implement data protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments and provide advice on data protection best practices to Trust staff.
- Develop and maintain compliance reporting for GDPR, ensuring the Trust's compliance with data protection regulations.
- Support the development of new information processes and systems, ensuring data protection is addressed by default.
- Relevant degree-level qualification in a field such as law, information governance, or a related field.
- Specialist data protection qualification, such as the ISEB Certificate in Data Protection.
- Proven experience in data protection, information governance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
