Design Manager Job Description

Clark Contracts Ltd, a leading main contractor, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in the management of the design process for Design & Build Projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design team and ensure that design consultants carry out their duties in line with their appointment.
  • Manage the design development process, liaising with other departments and project teams regarding design requirements.
  • Ensure that design work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Coordinate the whole design process, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and design teams.
  • Review and prepare project reports, technical submittals, and management of the Information Release Schedule (IRS).
  • Provide technical support across the business and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and technical requirements.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Design Manager for a Main Contractor, sub-contractor, or have an architectural or engineering background.
  • Ability to manage a design team and lead meetings with external and internal members of the team.
  • Proven track record of Risk Management and Value Engineering.
  • Experience working in Design & Build projects and efficient use of design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
