Senior Underwriter – International Property

AXA XL, a leading provider of property and casualty insurance solutions, seeks a seasoned Underwriter to join our dynamic team. As an integral part of our underwriting operations, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating risk, managing portfolios, and driving profitable growth within the international property market.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite, manage, and service a portfolio of existing insurance policies, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Develop comprehensive underwriting strategies for both new business opportunities and renewals, maximizing profitability while mitigating potential losses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in risk assessment discussions, providing expert insights and contributing to informed decision-making processes.
  • Engage with brokers and clients, negotiating terms and conditions to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes that align with AXA XL's objectives.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders within the industry, staying abreast of market trends and emerging risks.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our product offerings and target markets, ensuring alignment with evolving customer needs.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Contribute to business planning initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations for growth strategies.
  • Monitor claims activity and identify potential areas for product development or process improvement.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as insurance, finance, or risk management.
  • Extensive technical expertise in property insurance principles, underwriting practices, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills with a strong focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
