Cost Estimator for Construction Projects

The UK Rail division is seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to become an integral part of our team. This position involves managing 2-3 projects while collaborating with the commercial and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will maintain strong relationships, optimize commercial outcomes, and effectively manage risks. We are looking for a seasoned, self-sufficient Cost Estimator with a proven track record of working with clients and contracts.

Key Responsibilities include: Preparing and evaluating tenders, selecting suitable subcontractors, negotiating, and finalizing subcontract orders, along with overseeing financial and commercial management of subcontractors until Final Account completion. Managing and reporting on forecasts, targets, reconciliations, site documentation, variation reports, valuations, and assisting with site records and document management. Collaborating with and commercially influencing the site management team while safeguarding Sisk Group's commercial and contractual rights. Supervising and mentoring Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, ensuring the accuracy of their work and addressing SMM/measurement concerns. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Cost Estimator in construction projects. Experience with large healthcare construction schemes is preferred. A relevant tertiary qualification. Strong skills in report writing, forecasting, and engaging with clients and senior management. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
