Mechanical Technician

This role is a permanent position that provides avenues for career advancement while being part of a leading organization in the engineering sector.
The position will primarily be located in a central area, with the expectation of occasional travel to various sites across the UK and offshore locations.
The Mechanical Technician will be tasked with the assembly, upkeep, and repair of mechanical systems and components. This role is crucial in ensuring that all mechanical equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably.
Specific Duties Include:
- Assemble and install mechanical systems and components in accordance with engineering specifications and technical documentation.
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, conveyors, and gears.
- Execute precision alignment and adjustments of machinery to guarantee optimal functionality.
- Replace worn or defective parts, ensuring adherence to proper materials and procedures.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and methodologies.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to mitigate potential issues and prolong equipment lifespan.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including service reports and equipment histories.
- Comply with safety regulations and practices, ensuring all mechanical systems are safe for operation.
- Utilize and maintain hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and specialized equipment effectively.
- Stay informed about new equipment models, technologies, and maintenance techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
To qualify for the Mechanical Technician position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Extensive experience in hydraulic or mechanical fields.
- Proven ability to meet high standards in the execution of tasks associated with mechanical fitting.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in mechanical fitting or a related discipline.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and take initiative.
