Job Overview

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team of forward-thinking Ageing & Complex Medicine Consultants. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering and developing our modern and comprehensive Elderly Care service.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans. You will also contribute to the development of our Acute Comprehensive Geriatric Medicine service, including sub-specialties such as Stroke Medicine, Ortho Geriatrics, and Frailty Services.

Requirements
  • CCT in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent
  • Recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine
  • Commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other health professionals
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the development of Acute Medical services within the trust, be proactive and self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team. They will also have a CCT in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent, recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine, and a commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other health professionals.
