About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ageing and Complex Medicine Directorate, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our elderly patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive geriatric medicine services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of education and training programs for junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of patient care.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine.
  • CCT - Dual accreditation in GIM and Geriatric Medicine.
  • Entry on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT.
  • MRCP (or equivalent).
  • Full GMC with licence to practice.
  • MB ChB or equivalent.
