About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a School Nurse Specialist Practitioner, providing clinical leadership support and professional direction to our team of Community Staff Nurses and Associate Nurses. As a key member of our service, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing health promotion and education programs for children and young people.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership support and professional direction to the team
  • Develop and implement health promotion and education programs for children and young people
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports, adhering to NMC guidelines and Trust policies
  • Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives

Person Specification

Essential

  • First-level Registered Nurse (degree level) with NMC registration
  • Evidence of post-registration education and training at HE level 6
  • Practice Assessor/Supervisor competent
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification (SN)

Desirable

  • Contraception and Reproduction Health qualification

Skills and Knowledge

  • Evidence of utilising evidenced-based practice and appraising standards
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and understanding of professional responsibilities within the team
  • Able to establish and maintain key relationships with colleagues and other disciplines
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
