We are seeking a Lead Climate Strategy Manager to become an integral part of our team, contributing significantly to Aviva's commitment to achieving net zero emissions. This role demands an extensive knowledge of climate strategies, pathways to net zero, carbon metrics, and climate-related reporting. You will play a pivotal role in guiding Aviva's transition to net zero across multiple domains, including investments, underwriting, and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer expert advice on climate science to direct technical initiatives that facilitate the transition to net zero.
  • Drive the creation and execution of comprehensive carbon performance frameworks.
  • Supervise and critically assess decarbonization strategies across underwriting, operations, and supply chain management.
  • Examine climate-related data and metrics to aid in the preparation of internal and external reports.
  • Lead the establishment of targets and business planning efforts associated with climate transition.
  • Remain informed about industry advancements and provide strategic insights to enhance planning efforts.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in providing climate-focused technical leadership within the financial services industry.
  • In-depth understanding of climate metrics, ESG datasets, and climate science.
  • Proficiency in developing carbon pathways and reporting frameworks.
  • Awareness of climate finance initiatives and sector-wide decarbonization efforts.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capabilities.
