We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor to join our innovative Rehabilitation team in Canterbury. This 6 PA role will involve working alongside 1 Consultant Psychiatrist to provide care for those whose long-term complex needs cannot be met by a general adult mental health service.
Main Responsibilities- To provide psychiatric care to patients referred to the Rehabilitation Service.
- To ensure effective liaison occurs between mental health services and the acute hospital, and also with other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate.
- To help deliver a programme of training and education for acute hospital staff and mental health staff.
- As a section 12(2) approved doctor, the post holder will carry out assessments and provide medical recommendations under the Mental Health Act as and when required, and attend Mental Health Tribunal and Manager's meetings.

- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Holds and will use a valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
- At least 4 years postgraduate experience, including at least 2 years in core psychiatry training programme.
- Good clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Postgraduate experience in specialty.
- Participated in continuous professional development.
- Able to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
- Shows empathy and sensitivity.
- Able to use electronic records and use IT for email, internet and office software.
- Reflects on own performance and behaviour, seeking and acting on feedback.
- Shows commitment to quality through knowledge of quality improvement and lean thinking methodology OR able to achieve within one year of appointment.
