About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in the Innovations team, fostering close collaboration with the Business Development team to drive the delivery of new activities and funding calls aimed at expanding the NIHR offer to industry and its engagement with investors.

As a Senior Programme Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of exciting projects led by small and medium enterprises, academia, and NHS Trusts, which are striving to make a significant impact in the NHS and the UK economy.

You will be responsible for developing close relationships with innovators and entrepreneurs, driving the collection of outcomes, contributing to the generation of case studies, and participating in the planning of ad hoc events, workshops, and webinars.

Key responsibilities include programme operations and commissioning, due diligence, contracting, and portfolio management, as well as communications and engagement, and staff management.

What You Will Bring to the Role

Qualifications include a good understanding of the health and social care innovation ecosystem, including product development and the translational research pathway.

Experience in research management, technology transfer, health tech accelerators, start-ups, or organisations supporting innovation is essential, as is experience engaging with industry at a senior level.

Excellent presentation and communications skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and organisational and prioritisation skills are also required.
