About the Role

Drive Health, Safety and Environmental standards across our extensive branch network by providing expert advice, support, and guidance to Regional, Branch Management Teams, and all employees. Ensure full compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and environmental legislation.

About You

Collaborate with management teams to ensure Health & Safety procedures are compliant, effectively communicated, and regularly reviewed. Coordinate advice delivery and conduct comprehensive Health & Safety training programs across the Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert counsel on all matters related to Health & Safety, including the obligations and responsibilities of managers, employees, and contractors.
  • Conduct thorough internal Health & Safety audits and inspections at designated branches to meet company standards, fulfill legal obligations, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Maintain meticulous records of branch inspections, producing detailed reports and action plans to ensure compliance with regulations and mitigate risks.
  • Follow up on action plans, ensuring resolution and escalation as necessary.
  • In partnership with Facilities and Project Teams, verify that contractors provide comprehensive Risk Assessments, method statements, and required documentation before commencing work.
  • Implement appropriate Health, Safety, and Fire risk assessment methodologies to identify potential hazards and establish effective control measures.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, recommending solutions or procedural changes as appropriate.
  • Manage the accident policy to minimize the risk of incidents.
  • Deliver a comprehensive training program to cultivate a positive Health & Safety culture within the organization.
  • Develop essential content for induction programs.
  • Stay informed about current and proposed Health, Safety, and environmental legislation, providing timely advice and taking appropriate action.
  • Engage with advisory bodies and legal experts on Group HSE matters or local authorities.
  • Collaborate with product and supply teams to ensure the safe storage and transportation of products.
  • Work closely within the Health & Safety team to continuously refine and deliver the Group's Health & Safety Strategy.

This role requires occasional overnight stays and significant travel throughout the UK.
