Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee the management of processes and training for front-line branch personnel while providing support to the Field Operations team and the overall Branch Network. This role is essential in ensuring teams meet operational objectives, maintain compliance regarding shrinkage, and address critical operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance PARC performance through collaboration with OSS and regional teams.
- Assist in the completion of audits alongside the OSS team.
- Facilitate PARC scoring by supplying necessary data.
- Conduct 6-week OSS reviews to assess and establish new objectives.
- Engage in biweekly evaluations with regional branch teams.
- Lead PARC assessments with Operations teams, setting clear goals for shrinkage and compliance enhancements.
- Ensure that training on operational procedures is documented and current in the shared repository.
- Review and contribute to the development of new policies.
- Maintain and monitor OSS trackers to optimize OSS time within branches.
- Complete OSS induction plans for new team members.
- Ensure OSS team members are proficient in training across all areas, including cash banking processes.
- Manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring they are up-to-date and that Pitstop is revised as necessary.
- Drive branches throughout the month to ensure timely process completion for smooth month-end operations.
- Support the execution of the Branch Stocktake Management program.
- Assist in the stock cleansing initiative.
- Maintain a strong connection with the Profit Protection Manager, providing support where OSS involvement is needed for audits or stock investigations.
- Collaborate with the Central Operations Manager.
- Offer front-line support for local branch projects as required, including new branch openings or relocations.
- Provide assistance on additional projects as directed by the head of operations.
Working Hours:
This role typically requires hours from Monday to Friday, including alternate Saturdays. Extensive travel and overnight stays may be necessary due to the coverage of the entire branch network.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for the Operations Manager position will possess a proven track record in warehouse management, preferably within a dynamic environment such as FMCG. To excel in this role, candidates should have:
- Operational experience in a similar or managerial capacity, ideally within a multi-site organization.
- Strong understanding of branch processes.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- A motivational and enthusiastic approach, leading by example.
- Capability to work independently.
- Outstanding communication skills across all levels.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly in Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Autopart.
- A valid driving license with the flexibility to travel, including potential overnight stays.
