Position Overview

Introduction:

N-Gen UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering Operations to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to legal standards concerning hydrogen production, storage, and transportation across various industrial decarbonisation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and a collaborative spirit, taking on the responsibilities akin to a chief engineer across multiple projects throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and engineering guidance to ensure the delivery of sustainable energy solutions within a portfolio of hydrogen decarbonisation projects.
  • Formulate and execute an engineering strategy that aligns with the company's overarching business objectives.
  • Lead the development and application of technical solutions, collaborating with other engineering teams and organisations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as COMAH and PSSR/PSR, implementing necessary processes to safely manage hydrogen facilities.
  • Adopt a flexible and innovative approach to engineering solutions, recognizing the evolving nature of the Green Hydrogen market.
  • Identify, appoint, and oversee the development of technical solutions for clients, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Establish and enhance the integrity framework and legal compliance, focusing on people, processes, technology, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate and promote N-Gen's core values of integrity, honesty, respect, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Chartered engineer in a relevant field.
  • Degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business or leadership are advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of legislative requirements for hydrogen facilities in the UK.
  • Proven experience managing financial guidelines and contributing to commercial models.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a focused team.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Awareness of climate change challenges and familiarity with government policies and funding related to decarbonisation.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including outside standard hours and travel as necessary.
  • Valid UK driving license and right to work in the UK.
