Complex Needs Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Support Worker to join our team at a special school serving pupils with a variety of learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to pupils with complex needs, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist pupils with personal care, mobility, communication, and learning, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Implement individual education plans, behavior plans, and risk assessments, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Utilize various strategies and resources to engage pupils in learning activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document pupils' progress, achievements, and wellbeing, providing regular updates to staff and parents.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or relevant experience with complex needs.
  • Understanding of the needs of pupils with complex challenges, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.
  • Positive, patient, and empathetic approach to building rapport with pupils, their families, and staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
  • Willingness to engage in training and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
