Position Overview...
As a Warehouse Operative at Soho House, you will be responsible for managing and processing all food and beverage inventory ordered for the establishment. Your role will include ensuring the cleanliness of storage areas, including back landings, dry storage, wash areas, chef storage, and freight elevators. A successful Warehouse Operative will maintain an efficient flow of goods, which involves documenting, storing, locating, and distributing stock across various departments. Key responsibilities also include inspecting and sorting shipments while managing invoices to ensure order accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify all perishable and non-perishable food and beverage orders, documenting the quantities received.
- Assist vendors and management in receiving additional supplies as needed.
- Inspect received merchandise for quality and quantity, rejecting any unacceptable items.
- Distribute merchandise according to food safety regulations and storage protocols.
- Ensure the proper functioning of FIFO (First In, First Out) for walk-ins and freezers.
- Conduct inventory as directed and communicate findings to management.
- Complete daily checklists with the overnight porter.
- Sanitize all bar storage areas to maintain a safe environment for consumables.
- Prepare ingredients as required by the kitchen.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with kitchen experience.
- Proficient in reading and writing English, with the ability to understand labels and safety instructions.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Capable of working effectively under time constraints and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects by hand.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, typically 8 hours.
- Occasionally required to kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as necessary.
- Shifts will vary across the week, including evenings, weekends, and both opening and closing shifts.
- Average weekly hours range from 32 to 45 hours.
