Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at The Sterling Choice. This role involves a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with alternating day and night shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
Compensation:
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £51,806 per annum, along with opportunities for paid overtime at a rate of 1.5x. Additionally, a signing bonus may be available for qualified candidates, subject to terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance all plant operations, processes, and assets to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Conduct daily maintenance and improvements on plant equipment and services.
- Adhere to food safety and health standards in all tasks.
- Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks and develop improved maintenance practices.
- Diagnose and rectify equipment faults promptly to ensure operational continuity.
- Test, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems.
- Identify and report on machinery defects or signs of potential failure, providing relevant data for maintenance management systems.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer in a fast-paced manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering within production and process settings.
- HNC qualification or equivalent apprenticeship with hands-on experience in fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs.
- Desirable experience in a similar FMCG role.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.
- Solid understanding of preventative maintenance techniques.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
