Position Overview

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Management Accounts Team.

This position entails extensive data evaluation to support our month-end financial processes.

Our goal is to deliver precise and comprehensive financial insights for the Finance Department and the broader organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate within a team to ensure accurate monthly management accounting and reporting.

- Assist in the development and delivery of financial guidance and support to budget holders.

- Provide timely, precise, and relevant financial advice to budget holders, including support for Finance Managers to meet the needs of the Executive Team.

- Ensure that effective financial controls are established and maintained to achieve the financial objectives of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance, Finance Managers, and budget holders to provide comprehensive, timely, and efficient financial support.

2. Assist Finance Managers in preparing monthly budget reports, including exception reporting and cost center analyses in accordance with internal and external deadlines.

3. Responsible for the compilation and distribution of monthly budget reports and staff lists to budget holders, ensuring accuracy in the circulation list.

4. Manage the processing and input of journals into the finance ledger (Business Central), ensuring budget reports accurately reflect expenditures with appropriate accruals.

5. Adhere to staffing establishment control procedures and report on key staffing information, including bank, agency, and overtime usage costs as required.

6. Assist Finance Managers in ensuring that all staff appointments follow the correct procedures.

7. Conduct financial analysis of budgets to identify and analyze financial trends and benchmarks.

8. Support Finance Managers in preparing for regular budget monitoring meetings, ensuring they are constructive and informative.

9. Assist in setting robust budgets for the upcoming year and provide monthly reconciliations to enable accurate forecasting for each cost center.

10. Ensure compliance with Spectrum's Standing Financial Instructions and financial procedures, reporting any breaches.

11. Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery, procedures, and practices to enhance departmental efficiency.

12. Improve the accuracy of information by ensuring changes in stock, debtors, and creditors are accurately reflected.

13. Assist the Head of Finance and Finance Managers with implementing audit recommendations as necessary.

14. Liaise with internal and external audit staff to provide required information.

15. Undertake internal audit reviews to ensure adherence to financial procedures.

16. Assist the Director of Finance and Head of Finance with financial contributions to the Annual Business Plan.

17. Perform any other duties as required, including a variety of ad-hoc reporting as determined by Finance Managers.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • AAT Qualified (NVQ Level 4/Technician level), Finance Degree, or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Currently pursuing a recognized accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA).
