About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Domestic Assistant - Cleaning and Maintenance to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our healthcare facilities, providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain all areas of the hospital, including clinical and non-clinical spaces, using a variety of cleaning equipment and techniques.
  • Floor Care and Maintenance: Maintain and clean all floors, including carpets, hard floors, and other surfaces, using specialized equipment and cleaning solutions.
  • Waste Management: Empty and replace waste bins, and ensure that all waste is disposed of in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping: Accurately report any maintenance or cleaning issues to the relevant authorities, and maintain accurate records of cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with other members of the facilities team to ensure that all areas of the hospital are clean and well-maintained, and communicate effectively with staff and patients to ensure that their needs are met.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: English GCSE and Maths GCSE.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures, and the ability to use specialized equipment and cleaning solutions.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with staff and patients.
