Main Responsibilities

As a key member of the Bondcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared and served to the highest standards of quality and safety.

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff members in the use of equipment and hygiene procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence in food preparation and safety.
  • Accommodate special dietary requirements and preferences of service users, ensuring that all meals are tailored to meet their needs.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
  • Ensure that all equipment is clean and well-maintained, and that the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and tidy.

Health & Safety

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all statutory health and safety standards are met in the kitchen and dining areas. This includes:

  • Ensuring that all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored properly, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas is carried out effectively.
  • Reporting any accidents or incidents to the Home Manager or Person in Charge.
  • Understanding and implementing the Care Centre's Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures.
  • Reporting any faulty appliances or potential hazards to the Home Manager or Person in Charge.
  • Promoting safe working practices in the Care Centre.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A basic food hygiene certificate.
  • A satisfactory policy check and check against the PoVA list.
  • A team player with a positive attitude.
