About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Birchwood, a CQC Registered Nursing Home in Lees, Oldham. As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for cooking a variety of dishes to meet the dietary needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Cooking and preparing meals for residents with different dietary needs
- Assisting with menu planning and ordering stock
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene
- Supporting residents with cooking skills and offering individual and group cooking sessions
Requirements
- Experience in a catering industry or similar role
- NVQ Level 1 and 2 or equivalent and Food Hygiene Level 2 or City and Guilds/706/1 & 2
- Excellent chef skills and technical competence in food preparation and serving
- Good understanding of allergies legislation and food diversity, including Halal, Kosher, and Vegan diets
