This role is primarily in-person, requiring daily engagement at specified locations.

The primary aim of the service is to enhance the engagement of individuals on probation with treatment services, effectively bridging the gap between probation and community substance misuse services. You will provide practical assistance and ongoing support through a variety of structured interventions.

Your caseload will consist of adult male prison leavers and individuals on community orders, guiding them in implementing their action plans and navigating their recovery journeys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop collaborative action plans.
  • Deliver one-on-one and group sessions, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
  • Provide support and advocacy, including assistance with referrals and attending appointments.
  • Offer advice, guidance, and information in various formats to empower individuals on probation.
  • Facilitate interventions that enhance understanding and management of dependency and recovery needs.

Maintaining cooperative relationships with partner agencies and probation staff is essential. You will also be expected to meet targets set by Forward Trust and local commissioners.

Flexibility may be required for out-of-office work, but the role predominantly follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 09:00 to 17:00.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in the substance misuse field or a related area.
  • Proven ability to manage high caseloads and conduct comprehensive assessments.
  • Experience in delivering individual and group interventions using motivational and trauma-informed techniques.
  • Familiarity with treatment and healthcare services.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to equal opportunity principles and client confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills with diverse populations.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in substance misuse services.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice sector.

Benefits:
  • Training and development opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • External Therapy Allowance.
  • Wellbeing Days.
  • Access to Blue Light Card.
  • Contributory Pension Scheme.
  • Death in Service Payment.

If you believe you possess the necessary qualifications and are interested in contributing to the mission of Forward Trust, we encourage you to explore this opportunity further.
