Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing financial records, processing payments, and ensuring the accuracy of our business accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts; enter data into accounting software or databases and file hard copies.
  • Prepare financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
  • Manage vendor invoice payments and track bank account balances.
  • Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of business accounts and liaise with the Business Director to address any discrepancies.
  • Record inconsistencies and take corrective action as needed.
  • Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets.
  • Prepare employee wages and manage payroll processes.
  • Handle employee expense claims with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist the Accountant with administrative duties and the preparation of yearly accounts.
  • Provide secretarial / PA duties for 2 days per week (desirable)
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organisation skills and a strong communicator
