About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at NES Fircroft. As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide front-line electrical engineering support to our operations site-based team and deliver engineering modifications and technical discipline input to our Projects team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Improvements: Specify, scope, and execute improvements to electrical systems to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Asset Electrical Engineering: Act as asset electrical engineering focal point for site projects, including studies, and provide technical input to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Electrical Single Point of Accountability: Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, equipment strategy, defect elimination, and equipment rationalization.
  • Electrical Spares Strategy: Define and own the asset's electrical spares strategy to ensure optimal inventory management.
  • Plant Reliability and Safety: Lead improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination, and continuous improvement to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Safety Reviews and Investigations: Lead or contribute to safety reviews, risk assessments, and investigations as the electrical engineering focal point.
  • Maintenance Strategies: Act as custodian of asset maintenance strategies for electrical equipment and support the maintenance team with planned maintenance routines.
  • Equipment Breakdown Support: Support the maintenance team in regards to equipment breakdown, including investigation of fault, defect resolution, and execution of breakdown maintenance.
  • Electrical Engineering Documentation: Act as custodian of key electrical engineering documentation, including Power System Study, RFI Ignition Study, Lightning Risk Assessment, High Energy Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment, and Ex Inspection.
  • Asset Electrical MOCs: Responsible Engineer for Asset Electrical MOCs (Management of Change) proposals.
  • Incident Management: Participation in the incident management team as required.
  • Travel and Technical Support: Travel to Offshore Platforms or remote onshore sites to provide technical support.
  • Asset Self-Audit: Participation in the Asset self-audit program.
Requirements
  • Education: Hold a Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Qualifications: Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
  • Experience: Hold 10+ years' experience, including experience of Oil & Gas, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and experience of electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres and relevant legislation such as ATEX and DSEAR.
  • Industrial Power Systems: Knowledge and experience of the design, operation, commissioning, and maintenance of HV (up to 33kV) and LV industrial power systems and plant equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of relevant UK Regulatory (Safety Case, COMAH...) and industry standards.
