Position Overview

Orion Group is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as an Electrical Engineering Trainer. This role is ideal for individuals with prior offshore experience looking to transition into the educational sector.

Key Responsibilities

As a proactive member of the Electrical Engineering Trainer/Assessor Team, you will:

  • Provide effective communication and support to the Operations Manager and Senior Management Team.
  • Deliver and assess Electrical Engineering courses in alignment with awarding body standards.
  • Assist in the Internal Verification process alongside the Quality Assurance Lead.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Electrical Engineering curriculum and associated materials.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient record-keeping procedures in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of learning evidence for each participant.
  • Offer constructive feedback and support to participants, both individually and in groups.
  • Regularly review and enhance course content and delivery methods.
  • Participate in the assessment and improvement of Electrical Engineering training programs.
  • Prepare for and assist in Internal and External Audits.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A thorough understanding of Electrical Engineering Maintenance in both offshore and onshore settings.
  • Practical knowledge of Electrical Engineering equipment and systems.
  • A solid grasp of Electrical Engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work protocols.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient numeracy, literacy, and computing abilities.
  • Relevant occupational experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • SVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering certification or equivalent apprenticeship qualification.
  • Previous experience in vocational training is advantageous.
