Principal Estimator

Are you passionate about solving global energy challenges and contributing to a low-carbon future? Aker Solutions ASA is seeking a skilled Principal Estimator to join our team in Aberdeen.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Principal Estimator to manage the cost estimation process for various activities, including studies, projects, and management of change requirements. As a Principal Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and producing cost estimates, managing the estimation process, and providing estimating advice to senior projects personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the cost estimation process, prepare and produce cost estimates in accordance with company procedures.
  2. Prepare top-down, screening estimated, and detail Level 3 & 4 estimates consistent with scope definition and estimating procedures.
  3. Liaise with Project Engineering and Discipline Engineers to ensure necessary take-off information is available for project estimates.
  4. Provide estimating advice to senior projects personnel during comparative studies.
  5. Liaise with other team members, including procurement, planning, and contract administration, for effective cost control.
  6. Attend project meetings to answer estimating queries.
  7. Assist with the commercial aspect of Project Management.
  8. Provide feedback from completed projects and assist in updating company rates, norms, and prices.
  9. Identify risks and opportunities.
  10. High level of computer literacy.
  11. Minimum 10 years' experience in North Sea or other Oil & Gas Estimating.
