Wood is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our esteemed Shell EPC Contract. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the contract across our diverse Projects and Modifications Portfolio. The EPC Contract is well-established, featuring a broad and exciting array of long-term projects secured across various onshore and offshore assets.

The successful candidate will report directly to the lead estimator of the contract and will collaborate closely with project management, technical departments, and the broader project controls team. Regular interaction with clients, including collaboration with their estimating teams, will be a key aspect of this role.

We offer flexibility in employment type, with options for permanent staff, fixed-term contracts, or LTD arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the contract lead estimator and engage with project management, technical teams, and project controls to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare, review, and submit precise estimates regarding the costs associated with providing services to clients or potential clients. This is essential for accurate budgeting and planning, supporting robust project control throughout their lifecycle to ensure profitable delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive project estimates, ensuring they meet the required detail and accuracy in line with contractual obligations and Wood's policies and standards.
  • Assist senior estimating team members in managing and developing the estimating team, overseeing contract or project estimating norms, and preparing and organizing project estimate documentation.
  • Serve as the focal point for multiple project scopes, collaborating with the wider team to identify best practices and drive continuous improvement within the estimating function.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree (ISCED level 6) in a relevant technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience gained through vocational training and industry exposure.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Progressive experience in estimating roles within the industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of estimating techniques and systems, along with a thorough understanding of their application.
  • Strong grasp of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning, and Risk Analysis & Management.
  • Prior experience in a senior estimating capacity.
