About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Operations Specialist to join our team at Specialty Business Solutions. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Request Processing:
    • Process complex service requests with high accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Escalate queries from junior team members and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist with Management of Service Operations:
    • Monitor and prioritize service request queues to ensure timely resolution.
    • Collaborate with the wider team to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes.
  • Defining, Creating and Implementing New Service Operations:
    • Analyze dashboards and tickets to identify opportunities for process improvement.
    • Develop and document new processes to improve service delivery.
    • Evolve and improve existing service operations tasks, including automating service requests.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Embed a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance service delivery.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Adhere to department processes and procedures.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals.
    • Collect and analyze data to inform service delivery decisions.
    • Escalate issues to technical teams as needed.
    • Develop an understanding of customers' business and operational environments.
    • Assist with the creation of knowledge base articles and internal training materials.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • A formal tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as computer science or business information systems.
    • ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
    • Lean Six Sigma Yellow certification.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing support role, preferably in the IT sector.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to follow and adhere to documented instructions and processes.
    • Strong process documentation skills.
    • Motivated and self-starting.
    • Ability to manage own workload and manage expectations of stakeholders.
    • Confidence to seek support of peers and management as needed.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

Desirable:

    • Exposure to programming languages and a strong technical background.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Customer experience qualifications.
    • Basic knowledge of SQL.
    • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry.
