Job Title: Senior Development Engineer - Powertrain Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Engineer - Powertrain Expert to join our team at Emotiv Technical Recruitment. As a key member of our powertrain development team, you will be responsible for delivering air, fuel, and exhaust development and validation testing in accordance with component and vehicle development plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define component and system targets with the design team to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Create and maintain test procedures to ensure efficient and effective testing.
  • Develop and own component, system, and vehicle development plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Plan and execute mechanical development and performance development testing to validate design functionality.
  • Lead problem-solving investigations that occur during the development program to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with build teams to ensure optimized instrumentation layout and requirements.
  • Work closely with virtual validation teams to guide analysis and correlation to test results.
  • Analyze and interpret physical test results to correlate simulation and validate design functionality.
  • Optimize current test procedures and data analysis tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop close working relationships with external partners to ensure successful collaboration.
  • Work closely with calibration teams to ensure correct and reliable performance.
  • Support PT Systems S.T Team as an active member.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in hands-on powertrain testing and development roles.
  • Failure investigations and problem-solving expertise.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop external engineering resources.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on driving optimization through analysis.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with design and simulation teams, understanding data analysis and design processes.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional teams to deliver viable design solutions.
  • Proven track record of managing concern resolution.
  • Experience working within an OEM environment.
  • Prior demonstration of testing budget and timing management.
  • Italian language skills.
  • Industry-standard dyno and vehicle validation procedures.
  • Astute project control skills, including resource planning, timing, milestones, and meeting disciplines.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification, strong background in powertrain development.
  • Industry-related courses - HV electrification safety awareness.
