This position offers the successful candidate the chance to work in the operating theatre, providing care for patients undergoing a variety of elective surgical procedures, from straightforward day cases to more intricate surgeries. This role promises a diverse and rewarding experience.

Job Duties

  • Assist in delivering both direct and indirect patient care within the operating department.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to implement and assess care pathways for patients in the perioperative environment.
  • Work alongside medical, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure timely and effective patient care.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and contribute to the enhancement of care delivery systems.
  • Lead and guide team members, ensuring professional standards are upheld.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with professional guidelines.
  • Manage the administration and storage of medications in line with organizational policies.
  • Advocate for patients and ensure their needs are met throughout their surgical journey.
  • Stay informed on best practices and continuously update professional knowledge.
  • Collaborate with teams to achieve and maintain a high standard of care.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
  • NMC/HPC Registration.
  • Diploma in Health Care Studies.

Experience

Essential Skills

  • Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care effectively.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and the ability to implement change.
  • Experience in teaching and mentorship or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with CQC standards.
  • Competence in orthopaedic and minimally invasive procedures.
