Actuarial Risk Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Risk Specialist to join our team at Hanover. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for leading risk work and reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Derive risk appetite and tolerances for managed syndicates and managing agency
  • Produce key documentation to support risk management objectives, including strategy documents, policies, and risk registers
  • Assist with the governance of capital models
  • Apply and oversee risk mitigation strategies
  • Report on risk matters, including initial build-out, monitoring against appetite, production of ORSA reports, capital adequacy assessments, emerging risks, and risk events
  • Prepare regulatory reports, including ORSA
  • Regularly review the risk framework to ensure best practices are being employed

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a start-up managing agency at Lloyd's. As a key member of the team, you will be expected to be a 'doer' and not a delegator. You will be responsible for delivering risk management objectives and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects.

Requirements:

  • Fellow or Associate of the IFOA (Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) or equivalent qualification
  • Lloyd's experience, either in a consulting capacity or as an in-house actuary
