The Actuary Group is seeking a highly skilled Longevity and Reinsurance Actuary to join our team on behalf of our client, a leading UK provider of insurance and savings solutions with over 100 years of experience.
We are looking for a fully qualified actuary with extensive experience in longevity and a strong knowledge of UK Defined Benefit Pensions and reinsurance structures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, in-depth knowledge of capital modeling and profit testing, as well as considerable experience in mortality analysis and assumption setting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead projects related to longevity, assumption setting, longevity risk, and capital models, ensuring effective risk management and strategic decision-making.
- Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, colleagues, and external partners.
- Take charge of various areas of thought leadership, including longevity, annuities, and capital modeling, to drive business growth and innovation.
- Conduct in-depth research on longevity trends and develop strategic recommendations to inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with the Origination team and pension schemes to design and administer capital-efficient solutions that effectively manage risk and drive business success.
- Oversee the operation of reinsurance treaties, including collateral arrangements, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and optimal risk management.
- Manage and mentor junior members of the team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success.
- Contribute to the risk management function from a business perspective, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the business.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as required, ensuring seamless delivery of business objectives.
- Strong understanding of capital modeling and profit testing, with experience in developing and implementing complex models.
- Experience in mortality analysis and assumption setting, with a deep understanding of longevity trends and their impact on business decisions.
- Strong knowledge of UK Defined Benefit Pensions and reinsurance structures, with experience in designing and implementing capital-efficient solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to senior management and non-actuaries alike.
- Qualified Actuary with a strong track record of experience in the Actuarial Function of a UK Life assurer.
- Experience in managing stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, colleagues, and external partners.
