At Sweco, we're seeking a skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team of experts in the water industry. As a key member of our design team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients.

About the Role

  • Develop and deliver high-quality mechanical designs for water-related projects, working closely with engineers from various disciplines and industry professionals.
  • Collaborate with our clients to understand their needs and develop bespoke designs that meet their requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations, applying your knowledge to ensure our designs are safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
  • Work closely with our project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects and maintain excellent client relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of our team's technical expertise, sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues to drive innovation and excellence.

Requirements

  • Chartered status with the IMechE and a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design for the water industry, with a strong understanding of water and wastewater processes, health and safety legislation, and sustainable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers from all disciplines and other industry professionals.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality designs that meet the needs of our clients and contribute to the success of our projects.
