About the Role

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer within Hoare Lea's Property Services team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects and services to our clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver small projects up to £3m in value, providing technical support to clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical due diligence, including condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, and dilapidation surveys.
  • Develop and implement design strategies for challenging existing buildings, ensuring compliance with current standards and regulations.
  • Provide maintenance and operational services, including quarterly inspections, preventative planned maintenance, and asset registers.
  • Focus on sustainability and energy efficiency for existing buildings, implementing sustainable practices and upgrading building systems for better energy efficiency.
Requirements
  • Qualified design engineer with chartered status or working towards.
  • Experience conducting post-occupancy engineering services activities.
  • Mechanical design experience and good site knowledge.
  • Property knowledge and experience working on projects in existing buildings.
  • Ability to write technical reports and experience in performance specification work, contract administration, and site duties.
  • Experience in monitoring commissioning and witnessing activities, and liaising with clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge in a primary engineering discipline and relevant UK and EU regulations.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, and excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Able to develop effective relationships and proven track record in work winning and building successful teams.
