Clinical Fellow in Respiratory Medicine

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Fellow to join our Respiratory Department at St Bartholomew's Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust. This is a 6-month fixed-term post starting in October 2024, providing an excellent opportunity for an aspiring respiratory physician to gain valuable experience and skills.
About the RoleThis post is ideal for a trainee looking to develop their clinical skills and knowledge in respiratory medicine. You will work closely with our team of experienced consultants and specialists, participating in a range of clinical activities, including bronchoscopies and other respiratory procedures. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to clinical audit and small-scale research projects, working with active clinical researchers within the department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based care to patients with respiratory conditions
- Liaise effectively with colleagues within the Respiratory Department and other clinical specialties
- Maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work, working closely with consultant medical staff and other healthcare professionals
- Provide cover for annual and study leave of colleagues, as needed
- Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including administrative duties associated with patient care
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- MB BS or equivalent
- MRCP or equivalent
- Registration with a medical defence organisation
- Full registration with the GMC
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate for effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
- At least 2 years' hospital experience at SHO (IMT) grade or higher
- Experience of working in Respiratory Medicine for at least 4-6 months
