Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a vital part of our Kier Highways major projects team. This role involves providing essential support to the commercial team on various projects.

Location:
Remote working options available, with occasional office visits required.

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be integral to the Kier Highways team, overseeing the commercial and financial aspects of our highway projects. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Cost Management: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for highway projects. Conduct thorough cost forecasting and reporting to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Contract Management: Draft and evaluate contract documents, including bills of quantities and specifications. Supervise subcontractor agreements and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate monthly cost reports and financial statements. Perform regular financial assessments and provide insights to senior management.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and formulate mitigation strategies. Maintain an updated risk register.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement process for materials and subcontractors. Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure efficient resource acquisition.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost management, contract administration, and risk assessment.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, laws, and regulations is essential.
