Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fundraising and Grants Officer to join our team at Home-Start Newark. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and private entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Funding Research and Identification: Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities and develop a comprehensive understanding of the funding landscape.
  • Proposal Writing and Development: Craft high-quality, tailored grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents that effectively communicate our organization's mission and goals.
  • Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising: Establish and maintain relationships with businesses and organizations to secure new corporate fundraising opportunities.
  • Grant Management and Reporting: Manage and maintain a calendar of submissions and reporting deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our project manager to align grant applications and fundraising opportunities with organizational goals and project needs.
Requirements
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in bid writing and corporate fundraising, with a strong understanding of the funding landscape.
  • Exceptional Writing and Research Skills: Ability to convey complex ideas succinctly and compellingly, with a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of research methods.
  • Attention to Detail and Organization: Meticulous and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong sense of initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Technology Savvy: Proficient in using a range of software and other relevant tools, with a strong understanding of technology and its applications in fundraising and grant management.
