Job Title: Neonatal Specialist Nurse

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Specialist Nurse to join our team. As a senior clinical staff member and team leader, you will be responsible for providing sound clinical expertise to your team, coordinating and delivering high-quality care, and leading on specific projects/management functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess, plan, and implement high-quality care for patients in the clinical area, in line with Trust values and objectives.
  2. Lead on complex clinical care for Neonatal patients, ensuring the safe custody, maintenance, and administration of medication.
  3. Promote and maintain a safe therapeutic environment for patients, their families, and staff, according to national and local Infection Control guidelines, Health & Safety legislation, and Trust policies and objectives.
  4. Assist in the coordination of discharges and transfers, promoting timely and safe processes.
  5. Ensure effective patient flow and bed management, and deliver high-quality end-of-life care in line with national pathways.
  6. Provide sound evidence-based clinical advice to staff and patients, and maintain a good understanding of clinical escalation procedures.
  7. Participate in promoting and safeguarding high standards of care through effective risk management & governance, and adherence to the Trust values.
  8. Ensure staff adhere to Trust protocols of care, and take continuing responsibility for the Unit in the absence of the coordinator.
  9. Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with other professional groups and staff within the Division and the Trust.
  10. Contribute to the effective management of the area by ensuring correct levels of staff are in place to deliver and assist with the planning of off-duty rotas.
