About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crime Scene Investigator to join our team at Dorset Police. As a Crime Scene Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting scientific examinations of crime scenes and associated locations to identify, record, and recover physical and digital forensic evidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend crime scenes and conduct thorough examinations to gather evidence and intelligence information.
  • Conduct risk assessments of scenes and forensic evidence to ensure safety precautions are taken and documented.
  • Liaise with officers, members of the public, and victims of crime to secure effective cooperation and coordination of scene investigations.
  • Take responsibility for gathering information from relevant sources to ascertain the circumstances of incidents.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
