Job Summary:This role involves investigating serious and complex crimes, dealing with victims, offenders, and witnesses for Level 1 and Level 2 crimes.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate and detect NIM level 1 and level 2 crime and bring offenders to justice.
- Manage victims, interview offenders, and conduct thorough investigations.
- Prepare papers for court and provide clear rationale and updates on UNIFI.
- Deal with the more serious and complex cases and give evidence at Crown Court.
- Complete appropriate risk assessments for victims and offenders.
- Work alongside partner agencies to manage risks and support victims.
- Maintain ownership of the investigation post-charge, including its progression and hearing at court.
- Handle intelligence submitting via the Force systems in accordance with NIM and act on any intelligence when required.
- Ensure intelligence pictures are built to identify prolific offenders and potential targets.
- Support and utilise the National Intelligence Mode (NIM) throughout investigations.
- Attend and manage crime scenes, including rape, serious assault, suicide, sexual offences, search, and seize exhibits.
- PIP Level 2 Accreditation or equivalent qualifications, skills, or experience.
- Full UK driving license, unless prevented by reason of disability.
- Demonstrate potential to undertake more complex aspects of the investigative process to meet PIP Level 2 standard.
- Due to Police Criteria, you must have lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years.
