Job Title:

Senior Manager - Natural Perils

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager - Natural Perils to join our team at XL CATLIN. As a key member of our Science and Natural Perils team, you will be responsible for leading the evaluation of catastrophe models and providing expert technical analysis to support our risk management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project management for Model Evaluation projects, utilizing our internal framework to ensure timely and accurate results.
  2. Perform in-depth technical analysis of catastrophe models, including evaluation of each component and overall loss calibration.
  3. Liaise with internal scientists and actuaries to leverage their expertise and ensure seamless project execution.
  4. Communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders through written reports and oral presentations.
  5. Support the implementation of modeling solutions for technical pricing, accumulation management, business planning, and capital setting.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external catastrophe model vendors to stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments.
  7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  8. Develop and maintain effective communication skills, including report writing and presentation delivery.
  9. Build and maintain a network of internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  10. Master's degree or equivalent in a numerate subject, such as mathematics, statistics, or physics.
  11. Proficiency in SQL, with experience in programming languages such as R and Power BI.
  12. Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  13. Experience in people management and leadership.
