Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Editor to join our team at OPEN Health. As a Medical Editor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of scientific content across various client deliverables and accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control

Ensure that quality control is paramount within all materials produced across OPEN Health, maintaining the highest standards of editorial excellence.

Editorial Support

Provide editorial support, including proofreading, copyediting, document formatting, and ensuring style guides (internal and external) are maintained or adhered to.

Project Coordination

Coordinate effectively and efficiently with members of the wider team (medical & scientific, client and creative services) on a range of projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and timely delivery.

Budget and Deadline Management

Flag budget and deadline issues/out of scope work to account Client Services teams, ensuring proactive management of project resources.

Style Guide Maintenance

Maintain comprehensive style guides for all assigned accounts, ensuring consistency and accuracy in editorial standards.

Client Brand and Disease Area Knowledge

Develop and maintain an understanding of the various client brands and disease areas, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and research.

Industry Guidelines

Keep abreast of all relevant industry guidelines, including publication industry guidelines (e.g. Good Publication Practice), ensuring compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Administrative Tasks

Submit accurate and timely timesheet and expense records, ensuring administrative tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements
  • Education

Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a strong foundation in scientific knowledge and editorial principles.

Experience

Editorial experience within a medical communications company or related field, with a working knowledge of editorial processes and a proven track record of delivering high-quality content.

Skills

Excellent knowledge of general grammar and punctuation rules, proficiency in MS365, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability in editing/styling scientific content, with a strong understanding of style guides and regulatory requirements.
