We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team at NTT Global Data Centers EMEA GmbH. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Provide a customer-focused service and maintain a high standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure operational performance is always maintained to the highest possible standards.
- Technical Evaluation: Proactively evaluate all plant and equipment, suggesting improvements where appropriate to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintenance Reporting: Accurately record and report maintenance activity to ensure our Key Source System is correctly updated.
- SLA Compliance: Work as directed to ensure timely completion of PPMs and reactive work to Service Level Agreements.
- Fault Identification: Identify faults and accurately diagnose root causes to minimize downtime.
- Equipment Performance: Monitor and maintain equipment performance to ensure correct operation of critical services.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure oversight of statutory compliance, including water treatment and closed systems.
- Team Supervision: Supervise operational and maintenance activities to ensure work is executed in a safe and suitable manner and complies with SLAs.
- Incident Management: Assist with incident management and subsequent investigation to establish root cause.
- Shift Support: Support the Shift Engineering Teams to ensure correct operation of critical services.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise staff, both in-house and external suppliers, to deliver a highly focused client service.
- Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Record Keeping: Ensure the maintenance of accurate plant records, information, and reporting systems.
- Experience: Experience in facilities, operations, or engineering in a data center or other critical environment.
- Engineering Knowledge: Working knowledge and understanding of engineering operations within business-critical environments.
- Procedure Development: Creating and developing operational procedure (OP) documentation and other related processes.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all aspects of the role.
- Service Delivery: A flexible but non-compromising approach to service delivery.
- Technical Understanding: Ability to discuss and understand technical problems and resolutions with engineering specialists.
- System Knowledge: Demonstrable experience in operating and fault-finding complex and integrated M&E systems, including electrical distribution, BMS, air conditioning, fire suppression systems, and evaporative cooling systems.
- HVAC Knowledge: A good understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Certifications: 18th Edition certified or similar electrical qualification, IOSH – Working Safely, and other relevant certifications.
- Knowledge: Good understanding of data center systems or other critical environments.
- Skills: A/C/Chiller experience, water treatment experience, commitment to excellent customer service, and other relevant skills.
- Personal Qualities: A calm manner, able to work under pressure, good numerical and literacy skills, proficient IT skills, and other relevant personal qualities.
