Job Summary

The Director, Data Center Development - Europe is a key role within QTS Data Centers, responsible for leading the development of data center projects across Europe. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a deep understanding of data center design, engineering, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of data center projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and property development, to support customer needs and drive project success.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the development of data center designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure best-in-class services and pricing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in data center development, with a focus on large-scale data center projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in data center project construction, with a strong understanding of data center design, engineering, and operational requirements.
  • Ability to travel throughout mainland Europe to support project delivery and customer engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing multiple large-scale data center projects, with a focus on complex construction and delivery.
  • Knowledge of construction health and safety protocols and regulations.
  • Experience with customer deployment technologies and equipment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure project delivery.
